Saturday 18th May 2002

Destination: Beach Cottage, Nolton Haven, Pembrokeshire
Weather: Sunshine & showers, misty

After an unsuccessful visit to Wombourne chemist to get a prescription, we left Wombourne at 9.15am. We drove down the A roads, through Kidderminster, Leominster, Builth Wells, Llandovery adn west to Haverfordwest arriving at the latter place at about midday. It did feel like a very long journey as they were winding roads and we were often stuck behind slower miving vehicles.

We walked through HAverfordwest in search of a chemist but one does not seem to exist here and we went to eat four sausage rolls while waiting for Sarah & Andy to join us. Once we had all met up on the bridge over the river we went to Safeway to stock up on provisions before diriving on to Nolton HAven.

BEach cottage is about 30 metres from a beautiful cove on Newgale Sands. We weren't sure whether it was BEach Cottage because they is nothing to indicate its name, so I hope we're living in the right place. i think Sarah & Andy are little disappointed with its seclusion and small rocky cove, instead of long stretches of sand that is typical of NEwgale. But Simon & I couldn't be more pleased.

Andy had to go surfing immediately so we all drove up further north to Newgale. Sarah, Simon and I walked along the beach and played spinning around twenty times before trying to run, followed by an icecream.

We had spaghetti bolognaise for tea and then drove off in search of cinemas, unsuccesfully in time for Star Wars, at Tenby and Haverfordwest. Andy came home dejected, as a result, we drank wine, played Jenga and went to bed at midnight. Simon had an upset stomach in the early hours of the morning.
